Why Becoming an Active Taxpayer is Crucial

Many citizens hesitate to file taxes, assuming it will invite unnecessary scrutiny. In reality, being an active filer in Pakistan (appearing on the ATL) is a massive financial shield.

Real Estate and Vehicle Savings

When buying or selling property, non-filers pay upwards of 250% more in withholding taxes compared to filers. The same applies to purchasing or registering vehicles, where the tax penalty for non-filers can run into hundreds of thousands of rupees.

Banking and Dividends

Non-filers are subjected to higher tax deductions on banking transactions, profit on debt (savings accounts), and stock dividends. If you invest in the stock market or mutual funds, filing your return cuts your tax deduction on profits in half (from 30% to 15%).

Did you know? Tax filed does not necessarily mean tax paid. If your income falls below the taxable threshold (Rs. 600,000 annually), you can file a 'Nil Return' and still enjoy all the benefits of an active filer!

Let Tax Ustad Pakistan simplify the filing process for you. Provide your basic details, and we handle the FBR IRIS portal on your behalf.
